Maryam Qureshi

Hello fellow Mounties! I’m Maryam Qureshi and I am so excited to announce my candidacy for the position of ICC Co-Chair with Vy Pho! This is my first year at Mt. Sac and I am a psychology major hoping to transfer by the Fall of 2024. From an early age, I knew what my academic and life goals were. To kickstart my academic journey, I graduated high school two years early and as a result, I’ve been able to make progress toward earning my degree. Due to the pandemic, my high school experience at Walnut High School was somewhat limited in terms of being involved with clubs. Despite this challenge, I want to make the most of my opportunities during my college years. As someone who plans to pursue a career in the medical field, I know that leadership is a fundamental aspect of success. I understand the importance of being involved in extracurricular activities and I believe that every student should have the opportunity to explore their passions. If elected, I promise to support club growth and work to provide clubs with the resources they need to succeed. It’s important for clubs to identify areas where they need support and I will do my best to be there for them. I look forward to building a better community on campus and making sure that all clubs are welcoming and inclusive to all. I will also ensure that there will be clear communication between clubs and student government and that every call for help will be addressed. By bringing more attention to clubs, I look forward to creating a positive difference in the lives of students here at Mt. Sac. I am confident that with my dedication and passion for student life, I am the ideal candidate for the ICC Co-Chair position. I want every student to feel welcomed and proud to be part of clubs and to also give them the confidence they need to work harder and get them into leadership positions. Through my work, I hope to make a positive impact on campus and ensure that every student can follow their interests. I am excited about the opportunity to serve as ICC Co-Chair and I look forward to your support and vote in the upcoming election. Thank you!
